Understanding Our Administration Fee

Understanding Our Administration Fee

At our medical practice, we are committed to providing high-quality, comprehensive care.  To maintain this standard of care we have implemented an administration fee for patients aged eighteen years or older with commercial insurance.  We do not bill our administration fee to uninsured, Medicare or OHP patients.

Why we charge this fee

The administration fee helps to cover the added costs associated with rising insurance company demands.  Hurdles for small clinics to provide standard medical services are becoming more and more burdensome, demanding more time from our staff to fill out prior authorizations and rectify unpaid claims and claim denials.

In addition to the increasing labor demands, there is significantly less reimbursement for services from insurance companies than typical primary care clinics.  Naturopathic Doctors (ND’s) often receive 50% less reimbursement for the same services compared to other healthcare providers such as MD’s, DO’s and NP’s, despite having equal or more medical training.

To bridge the gap and continue offering comprehensive, patient-centered healthcare, we rely on the administration fee to supplement our practice’s operational needs.

Effective date

Starting May 1st, 2026, an administration fee of $9/month or $89 annually, will apply to all existing commercial insurance based patients.  For new patients, this fee will be charged prior to or at their first follow-up visit, allowing them to ensure that our practice meets their healthcare needs.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we strive to enhance the care we provide.  If you have any questions or need further information regarding this fee, please do not hesitate to reach out to our office.
